Greece: Rhodes

We flew into Rhodes and soon connected with Mr George's colleague and our VW Caddy - our hire car for the time on Rhodes.

Slightly squashed in with 6 passengers plus all our luggage we hit the coast road with a slight detour via a Supermarket to stock up on supplies for the villa. Trish took the hit for the team and took control of the luggage and the groceries in the very back....

Eric capably drove (with the support and assistance from 3 backseat drivers) us the 50kms down the road till we passed through various small towns and finally through Lindos and into Pekfos. We did think it was ironic that Eric who has hardly driven for the last 5 years since living in Singapre ended dip behind the wheel. Only a few small gasps when he veered to the opposite side of the road or overtook a bike rider with very little room.

Sandy called Ms Maria and she then sent her son to meet us at our Villa......we were all very happy with our temporary home for the next week and a bit.

After unpacking and sorting out rooms we all had a dip in our pool while Eric arranged dinner for us all......he was thrilled to receive the Chef's hat the travel buddies had bought along for him.

A late night for some of us with so much catching up to do. Lib unfortunately was not well so retired early.

Tuesday was a very welcome relaxing day with us all catching up on washing, reading, swimming and taking it easy.

Most of the travel buddies took the opportunity to Skype and connect with family and friends back home in Australia.

Tuesday night we headed into the local village of Pefkos to a well known local restaurant - George's.

Loukas looked after us very well and the food was divine....Sandy was in 7th heaven with the mixed grill.....but could not finish it all.

Annie enjoyed her Sword Fish while Trish had pork and Squizz had lamb. Lib has lamb with rosemary and Eric had lamb keflika......all awesome and the reviews we had read on the website were well deserved! Annie took the hit for the team and did the driving.
